How Our Community Cohorts Work

Class Sessions That Build Real‑World Skills

Each class session focuses on a core skill area — financial literacy, life skills, and career readiness. Lessons are practical, interactive, and tailored to the needs of emerging adults in Erie. Participants learn in ways that feel relevant and immediately useful.

Employer Engagement & Career Exploration

Local employers play a central role in each cohort. Through tours, guest speakers, mock interviews, and on‑site learning, participants explore career pathways and build comfort in professional environments. These connections often lead to mentorship, training opportunities, and employment.

Incentives That Encourage Responsibility

Participants can earn up to $500 by maintaining attendance, completing financial tasks, keeping a bank account in good standing, and engaging fully in the program. These incentives reinforce responsibility, stability, and positive decision‑making.

Graduation & Continued Support

At the end of the eight‑week program, participants celebrate their achievements at our Success Social — a combined graduation ceremony and mock networking event where they practice introductions, build confidence, and connect with local professionals. After graduating, young adults continue receiving support, resources, and opportunities through our alumni network.

Hands‑On Learning Experiences

Participants apply what they learn through real‑world activities such as banking appointments, insurance consultations, credit counseling, and employer site visits. These experiences help young adults understand how adult life actually works and build confidence navigating systems they’ll use throughout their lives.

Personalized Support & Coaching

Participants receive individualized guidance to help them set goals, build healthy habits, and navigate challenges. This includes resume support, interview coaching, financial planning, and one‑on‑one check‑ins that reinforce accountability and growth.
